2004.5-2005 6.6L DURAMAX LLY
The GMC 6.6L Duramax LLY, introduced in mid-2004, marked the second generation of the Duramax engine series. Building on the foundation of the LB7, the LLY featured improved fuel injectors, enhanced emissions control with a variable geometry turbocharger and exhaust gas recirculation system, and a more robust cooling system. With 310 horsepower and 605 lb-ft of torque, the LLY provided excellent towing and hauling capabilities. Despite some issues with overheating and injector harnesses, the LLY was praised for its balance of power, efficiency, and advanced technology, setting the stage for future Duramax innovations.
